Beyonce spent some time in a drug rehab facility last year - to prepare for a new movie role.
The singer is playing the role of drug-ravaged R&B legend Etta James in the upcoming movie, ‘Cadillac Records,’ reports the ‘New York Post’.
As part of her preparation, she spent lots of time talking to recovering addicts at Brooklyn’s Phoenix House.
As a result of her experience, next week’s premieres of the film in New York and Los Angeles will benefit Phoenix House.
‘I am … Sasha Fierce’ R&B star Beyonce Knowles’ third straight debut album topped the US pop album charts, shifting 482,000 copies in just one week. Her third chart topper following 2003 solo debut album - ‘Dangerously in Love’ (317,000), and 2006’s ‘B-Day’ (541,000), the former Destiny’s Child lead singer also has a No. 1 single ‘If I Were a Boy’ in the US.
