I have finally scanned the photos of Beyonce in the Essence magazine. So go to the gallery and check them out. I’ll be adding more photos today of Beyonce at various events so make sure you check back later.
Beyonce’s new album “I Am … Sasha Fierce” is expected to land at the number one position on next week’s Billboard charts and poppa Knowles is predicting bigger:
Beyonce Knowles visited rehab to prepare for her role in new film ‘Cadillac Records’.
The singer-and-actress visited a treatment clinic for people suffering from addiction to learn about the drug problems experienced by US soul singer Etta James, who Beyonce portrays in the movie.
Beyonce, 27, said: “I’ve never tried drugs in my life, so I didn’t know about it all. I learned a lot about myself.”
Etta, now 70, became a music sensation in the 50s and 60s, and is said to have been exposed to substance abuse from an early age after growing up in the spotlight.
And Beyonce admits her preparation for the part also had a massive influence on her new album ‘I am… Sasha Fierce’.
The ‘Bootylicious’ singer explained: “It changed my art. It changed my way of looking at everything, my approach to the songs I chose and the way I sang.
“Before, I was still really insecure and scared and now I have the confidence. It was like I had gone through therapy to something. I felt like a whole new woman, ready to reveal me. The real me.”
Meanwhile, Beyonce was joined by a leotard-clad Justin Timberlake on stage on Saturday (15.11.08).
The pop pair performed a version of her track ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)’ on US TV show ‘Saturday Night Live’ - and Justin parodied the song’s video by throwing some comical dance moves.
Beyonce also sung another version of the track with real female backing dancers and her latest single ‘If I Were a Boy’.
The R&B singer has christened herself “Sasha Fierce” for her double album, “I Am … Sasha Fierce.”
“I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am,” said the former Destiny’s Child frontwoman.
“Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage.”
Beyonce released her previous solo album, “B’Day,” to coincide with her 25th birthday in September 2006.
The musician, who married rapper Jay-Z, has recently been seen sporting a range different hairstyles.
Miss Knowles, whose has an African American father and mother who is Creole, was accused of being digitally touched up to have a lighter skin tone.
The singer rose to fame as a member of Destiny’s Child, but left to pursue a solo career. Her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, was awarded five Grammys.
Beyonce talks about love, life, fashion, her new album and upcoming film projects in the November issue of InStyle, and ET has a sneak peek!
“This is a new chapter for me,” she says. “I’m terrified, but excited.”
Of course, Beyonce married longtime beau Jay-Z earlier this year, and she says of her new disc, which comes out November 18, “I am happy right now and this album has a lot of love songs that talk about my emotions — me naked with my heart exposed.”
The Grammy winner plays music legend Etta James in the upcoming movie ‘Cadillac Records,’ in theaters December 5, and she says that she gained 15 pounds for the role.
“It was way easier – and tastier – than having to lose so much weight for ‘Dreamgiels,” she says. “I also studied Etta’s mannerisms and tried to make them my own. My performance, my posture – everything was so different from who I am. It was difficult.”

Beyonce has finally debuted a music video in support of her new single “If I Were a Boy”. The video begins with a scene which has Beyonce and her in-video husband preparing for their morning breakfast.
“It’s kind of like ‘Freaky Friday’. In the beginning of the video, my husband makes me breakfast and he’s excited about it, and I kind of don’t have time to eat,” the singer says. “As a police officer, I have a male partner and the video goes through our days. My husband’s at work and has attractive girls flirting with him but he declines their advances. I have a guy flirting with me, and I flirt back.”
“It’s about all of the little things that mean so much in a relationship. At the end of the clip, you realize that I was acting out his life, and it all starts over again,” the 27-year-old musician explains further. “He was a cop and everything that happened was really him doing the same thing to me.”
“If I Were a Boy” is one of the tracks which are confirmed to appear in Beyonce’s upcoming third major studio album “I Am…”. Co-produced by herself, Timbaland, and Kanye West, her record is expected to hit the market on November 18 under Columbia Records.
The singer found time to head down to the beach, giving fellow sunbathers an eyeful of her stunning bikini body.
Not that it was easy to see her, as she was flanked by her five bodyguards at all times.
Lucky fellas.
Beyonce was in Miami after being inducted into the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Hall of Fame as a reward for her generous work towards helping others.
She was guest of honour at a gala to raise money for the foundation on Saturday night.
“I have taken the time so I can create my sound, something that says who I am at this stage in my life,” says the R&B diva, who, according to E!Online, spent the past 12 months recording songs.
“I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me,” says the prolific artist.
Lest you’re not convinced by B’s soft sell, here’s a bit more hype: “I have taken risks here,” B says. “I am not afraid, and my music will explain it all.”
“I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me.
“The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side.”
